This is a personal portfolio site. It is deliberately simple: there are no accounts, no forms, no comments, and nothing to buy.

The short version

I do not collect anything about you. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts of any kind. This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.

Fonts and other third parties

The fonts are served from this site itself rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page does not send your IP address to Google or to any other third party. Every file the page loads comes from bryanchen.net.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify's servers necessarily process the requests your browser makes, and its infrastructure and access logs may record technical information such as IP address, the page requested, and the time. That happens at the hosting layer and is not something I add, read routinely, or use to build any profile of visitors. Netlify's own privacy policy governs that processing.

If you email me

The "Email me" button opens your own email program. If you write to me, I will have your message and your email address, and I will use them only to reply to you. I do not add anyone to a mailing list.

Links to other sites

This site links out to places like LinkedIn, iGEM, UC San Diego, and my former high school. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, not mine.

Your rights

Because I hold no personal data about visitors, there is normally nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have emailed me and would like our correspondence deleted, say so and I will delete it.

Changes and contact

If this ever changes, for example if I add analytics, I will update this page and change the review date above. Questions go to brc035@ucsd.edu.
